French Toast with Solar Grown™ Cinnamon Honey Spread Buttercream Frosting
Yield:
Approximately 2 Cups Frosting
8 slices French Toast
Ingredients:
Buttercream
½ cup butter, room temp
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup powdered sugar
¼ cup (2 oz) Clif Family Solar Grown™ Cinnamon Honey Spread
pinch of salt
French Toast
8 slices of bread, cut ½” thick
5 eggs
¼ cup milk
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
pinch of salt
Method:
To prepare the buttercream frosting combine butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, cinnamon honey and salt into a mixing bowl. Beat on high for 1 minute, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, until all ingredients are well incorporated, and mixture takes on a light fluffy texture.
In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Beat by hand or with a mixer until eggs are completely broken down. Coat both sides of the bread slices in the mixture and cook in a greased skillet over medium heat, until golden brown.
Enjoy with a dollop of the frosting in place of butter. Add a drizzle of maple syrup if desired
