Planning a Spooktacular Celebration
Halloween isn’t just for the kids. It’s the perfect holiday to kick fall entertaining into high gear. Here are a few of the tricks and treats we have up our sleeve for Halloween entertaining.
Set the Scene
Create a festive Halloween mood with age appropriate décor. If you are anticipating adults only, don’t hesitate to create a spooky scene. But if kids are part of the mix, you may want to tone down the spooky and keep it on the lighter side. Check out our Clif Family Pinterest Board for lots of great Halloween Entertaining ideas.
Make a Pot of Soup
On Halloween, guests tend to come and go amidst their trick-or-treating plans. Have dinner ready for your guests no matter what time their Halloween festivities bring them to your doorstep. A pot of chili, cornbread and easy appetizers are a great way to feed a roving crowd. Try Chef John’s Chili Recipe.
Style a Candy Platter
Take a cue from the classic cheese platter and create a candy platter to satisfy your guest’s sweet cravings. Choose a white platter to highlight brightly colored candy corn, cookies, red vines and more. The more shapes and colors the better!
Don’t Forget the Wine
Open an assortment of bottles to share with your guests. We recommend bottles of 2018 Clif Family Rose of Grenache, 2018 Oak Knoll Sauvignon Blanc, 2016 Grenache and 2017 Gary’s Improv Zinfandel. These wines offer something for every palate.
Offer a Party Favor
Clif Bar Minis make a great healthy addition to the candy bowl or a party favor for your guests. The same size as a mini candy bar, they pack a lot more energy and punch! Find them online here.
Happy Halloween!
