Harvest is a festive time in Napa Valley between early morning vineyard picks, long days crushing fruit and welcoming the many visitors who come to the valley to experience the fall colors and taste our Napa Valley wines.
With grapes getting most of the focus, we have limited time to think about cooking or meal planning. But we’re very lucky to have several go-to spots to keep us fueled up during harvest. Here are a few of our favorites, should you need a quick and easy meal during your next wine country visit.
A Deli and More
Short on time? It’s always a good idea to pop into Gary’s Wine and Marketplace in St. Helena to take care of your cravings. Choose between both cold and hot deli sandwiches. We like the Cali Bird, grilled lemon-herb chicken breast stacked with, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, pepper jack cheese and slathered with Calabrian chili aioli on a sesame seed bun. If you have a little extra time, we suggest browsing through the gourmet goodies in the marketplace. All wine and cooking accessories for you or any gifting needs.
A Locals Grocery Store
Sunshine Market isn’t your typical grocery store. Browse the shelves and you have access to a vast selection of local cheeses, baked goods from famous Napa chefs and local artisan desserts. For an easy lunchtime option, we suggest grabbing their house-made sushi, a Dragon roll, or Vietnamese Spring roll. Check-out their fridge that is stocked with cold pasta and veggie salads or pre-made sandwiches.

Early mornings demand caffeine. We love local coffee roasters, Chris, and Beth of Naysayer Coffee Roasters. Pop by their new storefront in south Napa’s Food City for coffee, tea, cocoa, and a selection of pastries from the very delicious and creative Monday Bakery.
Farm to Table Eats
You’ll often find many of the Clif Family crew enjoying the delicious and nutritious dishes from the Clif Family Food Truck. If you are short on time, you can place your order ahead on-line for pick-up. And be sure to check-out our Piazza! You are welcome to grab a seat and enjoy your meal with us. The Tasting Room is always at the ready to help you select a bottle of wine for your experience. The 2021 Oak Knoll Sauvignon Blanc is a wonderfully refreshing pairing with our Roasted Chicken, Porchetta or Pomodoro Bruschetta or Hot Link.
